Consider the past 4 films and how they represented the time period in which they took place.
They all show different versions of America, but what central theme or themes are present to show how the country was, is, and where it was going?

Things to consider in your writing:

What are they trying to say?  What part of society is shown by each film?  They all represent change and conflict in some way.  Even though they are representing different changes and conflicts, how are they similar in demonstrating this?  Using your knowledge of United States history, how are any current events or cultural issues from the times influential in the films, the characters, subjects, and the turns they all take?  Be sure to note some differences/similarities between the book and movie of Fear and Loathing in your analysis.  example- how did one or the other do a better job in conveying any message about your theme?

Due Friday June 9th.
2-3 pages typed double spaced.
This could easily be completed by Wednesday, but I'll give you until the 9th because I'm good like that.  You are MORE than welcome to turn it in Wednesday so you have the 8th to study for Friday finals (or hang out with your friends on your day off) and I have Thursday to grade them. :)

Please continue today's discussion in the forum.
In addition to popular things that should be taught in school and reasons why- come up with some ideas how we might be able to incorporate them into our class.
